In 1907 the Staffordshire Ladies County Golf Association (SLCGA) was founded by the ladies of Handsworth, Sandwell, South Staffordshire and Trentham Golf Clubs, who had followed the example of many other lady golfers in England who had formed Associations.
We organise several golf competitions and team events throughout the year for amateur players of all ages and abilities, including our growing Junior Girl's section. We are also lucky to have a strong and thriving VETS section.
We provide a structured training programme for those wishing to play and represent the County in our teams which is in addition to their own coaching.
Our Junior Girls are supported by a strong Junior Committee with a structured training and development pathway which is for those who are yet to hit a ball to the elite golfers representing their County and beyond.
Our events are intended to bring people together where we make new friendships and, at the same time, allow our lady members to play our many fantastic courses throughout the County.
