Tuesday saw the day of the Inter-Club Finals taking place at Druids Heath Golf Club, on a day initially forecast as dry and warm! It was dry and if you kept moving it was warm but a blustery and overcast day it remained, however, this did not put off the finalists of the Perry Cup and the County Shield.
Everyone was welcomed by the ladies committee of Druids Heath and we can’t thank the enough for their kind support.
This year we saw Great Barr and Lichfield meet in the final of the Perry Cup (H.I 11.5 - 24.4) and in the final of the County Shield we saw Uttoxeter and Aston Wood (24.5 - 36.4)
Many of the players had their caddies by their side supporting them as they progressed around the course and it was quite evident that the day was enjoyed by everyone both on and off the course.
But what about the days result. Our congratulations go to Great Barr on winning the Perry Cup and to Aston Wood on winning the County Shield with our commiserations to their respective opponents Lichfield and Uttoxeter. As is usual the presentation will take place at the AGM on Thursday 7th November.
We must also take this opportunity to congratulate and thank everyone and their teams that took part in the inter-club event this year. A total of 26 clubs took part in the Perry Cup and 24 clubs took part in the County Shield. Thank you for your support.
Many thanks to Virginia Callaghan for organising and running what was her last event and to Noel Mack for his role as starter and getting each match out on time.
Once again our thanks to Druids Heath for their support and hospitality and an excellently presented course.
